If you are familiar with Sarah Ban Breathnach's book Simple Abundance, you will know all about the comfort drawer. It is a drawer (or a box) to put special things that will give you a pick me up when you need it.
I'm actually using a box since I don't have a drawer and I have a 2 year old curious little girl. This way I can put the box up high and out of her reach.
First of all, you'll want to decorate your box with pretty paper. It must be pleasing to the eye.
Then add things that will put a little smile on your face or make you feel good for those stressful days. I have things like raspberry candy, taffy, a beautiful velvet rose, and silk ribbon. I still have some things to add to complete it. I mean what would comfort be without chocolate??
I also want to add a sweet book, some pictures of hubby and my dolly, a lace doily, bloomin tea, and special bath salts.
So tell me, what would you put in your comfort drawer??

I haven't read this book in years. I need a little pick me up and this book will be perfect. Thank you so much!!!!

What a wonderful idea! I have a wish drawer full of things I buy from time to time for a future grandbaby. It really makes me happy to pull that drawer open.
A Question...what type of camera do you have? Your pictures are great.

I would fill my drawer/box with the beautiful notes written by my 2daughters. Sometimes they are just a simple love note and other times they are beautiful handmade cards. I'll keep these precious memories for ever and they always make me smile.

Kerryanne
I love that idea Kerryanne! Hopefully when my dolly is a little older she'll write me stuff I can treasure.
This is the cutest idea! I'd put a candle that smells incredible...some chocolate and some vintage baby photos and some bling!
Oh' I like this idea. I think it would make a great gift for someone. Now, my box/drawer would include:
Swiss Chocolates, vanilla candles, favorite magazines, old family photos, lavendar scented bubblebath and a bottle of wine with a wine flute.
I believe I'll get started making the box asap.

I think I'll look for this book at the library tonight. I would definitely have chocolate in there! LOL A little scrapbook of my favorite pictures, my stuffed frog, a book of favorite quotes/poems, a sweet-smelling sachet bag...

I like that idea!! I would fill it with York Peppermint Patties, a few letters I hold close to my heart, pictures of my husband and family... and my favorite music...
