Tuesday's Tips!

I thought I would try and submit a couple of tips every Tuesday. So here's what I got for today.

Do you have stainless steel appliances?? You can buy stainless steel cleaner, but I bet you already have something in the house that will work just as well. That's right WD-40.

Here is an example. This is what my coffee maker looked like before, and believe me no windex or counter cleaner made it look any better.

Tada! Just a few moments later after using WD-40 and it looks pristine!

Now for the second tip! What do you think these 2 things have in common??

Well, if you want to attract Orioles, just put out a plate of grape jelly. A lady recently did this and had 9 Orioles all at once inhaling the jelly. I don't know what it is, but they love it!!

I love the grape jelly trick! I'm excited to try it! You asked what type of paint I used on my little table because it wasn't crisp white- I always mix different paints together until I get the shade that I want. In this case, I actually mixed pure white with a little bit of brown to tone it down. Of course, the brown doesn't show up at all, it only makes the white less white ; ) If you spray paint, there is a great color called "dover white"- I think it's Krylon. It is another version of a toned down white- it's almost an off-white color. Hope this helps! P.S- Sorry, that was my deleted comment above because I was logged in under my family blog and I didn't want you to wonder who it was!! ; )

I learned another tip for cleaning stainless steel, use olive oil on a clean white towel! works like a charm, no harmful fumes from the WD 40, the oil is non toxic WD 40 is!

I saw the gal use this on Clean House on DIY Network...I use it all the time as my kitchen is full of stainless and I have 4 messy men in my life not counting the two messy dogs!

I tried everything in the market to clean my stainless steel until the appliance repair guy suggested Sheila Shine. It might just be WD40 in another form but it works. I did a google search to find it online.
